sagittarius new moon

Simone Butler at Mooncircles

“The year that’s wrapping up has been a confusing and frustrating one for many of us. Yet since Jupiter entered its own sign of Sagittarius early last month, hope is on the horizon. Not necessarily in terms of external matters – although they may well improve, especially in the sector of your chart that Jupiter triggers – but in terms of altered perceptions and inspiration leading to new ways of thinking and acting.
An auspicious New Moon arrives this week, urging us to get out into nature and celebrate life. But it’s also important to examine the choices we’re making. Are they thoughtful and inclusive? Or born of unconscious pain or fear? This is the looming question at the Sagittarius New Moon (Dec. 6, 11:20 p.m. PST), which squares Mars and Neptune in blurry Pisces.  Sagittarius wants truth, freedom and progress – while action-oriented Mars, in communion with watery Neptune, tends to  act impulsively, without all the facts.  This can lead to a battle of wills over who is right, or becoming lost in the fog and making wrong turns. But it’s also a wonderful time to harness Neptune’s compassionate side and work on behalf of those less fortunate. If in doubt, take that proverbial walk around the lake and let your inner guidance inform you before you take action.”

“We step out onto the precipice at this New Moon. Where you feel trapped, you will find yourself yearning to wriggle free. But you don’t have to firebomb your entire life and start over. For most of us, it will be enough to approach the ticking time bombs in our lives cautiously and disarm them with quiet disclosures to the right people and a step, however tentative, in another direction. Ask: Where can you be more truthful, to yourself and to others? What are the secrets and fears that are preventing you from living authentically?
The one thing you can’t do is ignore the untamed animal within you that demands adventure and freedom. If you tie it up too tightly, it will simply bide its time until one day, a door will be left open or a loose screen can be pried away just enough so that you are able to escape. If that time has come, and you are on the verge of throwing away something very important, just be absolutely certain that there is no other choice. Some words can’t be taken back. Some actions are irrevocable. There are things out there that can bite you—and some cats don’t make it back home.”

“This year’s boisterous New Moon in Sagittarius promises high energy, high spirits and high hopes. What will they inspire us to do… It’s the time of the season to reach, run, jump, explore and fly. To spend hours philosophizing over coffee or beer (or debating/ arguing online). To indulge and gamble and laugh – especially when we tumble and end up on our backsides.”

“There are many moving parts right now as our worlds are being recreated and renewed.
Sagittarius New Moon coupled with Mercury going Direct is unleashing an inspired energetic stream moving us toward liberation as we long to explore new pathways and new avenues.
The energy is exciting, fiery and inspired, wanting to dismantle and begin anew. But we must be mindful in harnessing this energy and take caution against going too far into extremes.
Rather than getting carried away, we can harness this deepening force asking us to face and creatively engage in the transformation afoot.
For on the deepest level, it is calling us to rise and meet our own deepest needs and longings.
We are responsible for our own happiness and so rather than looking outside, we need to turn inward and ask ourselves, what will ultimately feed and nurture our Soul and what can we do to shift into that alignment?”

full moon in gemini

Set aside some special time during this full moon to envision your future. It’s the perfect time to plant seeds that you want to grow, so be brave enough to ask for exactly what you want. Say it out loud!

From Astrology Hub

The Gemini vibe is at its rawest, with the Moon occurring at the very beginning of the sign. Arik Xander parses the Moon’s position at 0 Gemini:

“A zero degree represents the deepest, or seed level energy of the outcome. Like a real seed, it contains the entire tree. The only thing that keeps us from seeing the tree is time. With time, and supportive circumstances, the tree will mature, providing shelter, nourishment, and shade for those who need it.

“The Full Moon represents a time when we can remove obstacles that may have arisen since the New Moon. When the Full Moon occurs at the seed level of a sign, we are presented with a remarkable opportunity to remove future obstacles that may arise in regards to the [sign]the Full Moon occurs in.”

“For the Moon, in the first degree of Gemini, we find, “A glass-bottom boat in still water,” an apt symbol for the Mercury Retrograde period with strong Neptune, when we are encouraged to look deeply inside ourselves to observe the strange creatures on display within us. Jones references one’s “alertness to every ramification of experience open to him [or her] and of the necessity that one take definite action on his [or her] own account in order to capitalize on any particular opportunity.” Indeed we must all recognize that every experience of life and living, when we look at it right, is productive of an endless stream of possibilities for ourselves, and for coming to a greater understanding of our purpose in being here at this particular moment of history.”

“We, each in our own ways, have been moving through trying times.
This Scorpio cycle has been teaching us of the power of regeneration, and our ability to go through the fire and literally rise from the ashes like the phoenix transformed.
Pat Liles says that during this current Mercury RX Period, “we are drawn to the internal spiritual journey, the inner trails of growth to renew our inspiration.”
With this Gemini Full Moon, we have the opportunity to see things from multiple perspectives and gleam ideas of what could be possible.
We must dream the new.”

full moon in taurus

From Kathy Biehl at Astrology Hub

“The 2018 Full Moon in Taurus promises shakeups and fresh air in relationships, finances and other basic, practical and dear aspects of existence.
The blast may be bracing. It may be disruptive. But it’s pushing our backs toward stability – and the future.
Onward, inward, upward… here we go…”

“…each of us, in our Taurus planets or house (don’t know how to find it? this post should help), possesses the sorcery of benign neglect. In some part of your life, you know how to make things grow, how to support life without smothering it, and to comfort those who are fearful. So at the Taurus Full Moon, gather up the compost of fears, failed dreams, and insecurities. Till them into the garden’s soil; then cover it up for the winter and let it rest. By spring, the soil will be strong and refreshed, and ready to nurture fresh, new, and abundant life.”

From Mystic Mamma

Growth happens in the subtle spaces,
beneath the Earth,
before we can see any evidence
of any new beginnings.
Deep down inside, there are changes occurring,
on a personal level and in the collective.
Behind the scenes, things are shifting
and real change is slowly unfolding.
But it takes time for things
to take shape and give an outward
manifestation of the inward.
Remember this and do not think
that progress is not occurring,
because it is.
As Full Moon rises in Taurus,
take time to ground into
our dear Mother Earth.
Remember that she is alive
and calling us back to her.
We are not Motherless children,
we belong to her.
In her, we can always find
our place of belonging.

she who is coming into being

The new moon and Uranus entered Taurus this morning, only a few hours apart, and considering Uranus changes signs every 7ish years I think it’s only logical to expect a big bang. But what does that mean when it has entered such a slow and steady sign? Taurus’ definitely like to do things in their own time. I know this firsthand from raising the sweetest, and also most stubborn, little Taurus of my own. He can’t be persuaded or begged or bribed to do anything that he simply doesn’t want to do. I’ll leave the forecasting to the astrologers, but I’ll bet this next 7 years will be Taurus as I’ve never seen it before.

Las night I was sitting on my porch, drinking in the sweet smell of the fresh plants and the crisp air after rain. Just taking it all in. I’ve been avoiding stillness, for maybe the last week or so. I’ve been feeling on edge, and guess I was afraid of slowing down and what I would find. I thought I would probably just start crying again lol.

As I was seeking alignment for this giant energetic shift, I received a lovely message. It softly told me to focus on “she who is coming into being.” And you guessed it, I started crying.

I haven’t looked back in a long time and given myself credit for how far I’ve come. I’ve been so concerned with everything that I still need to do, and feel like I can never accomplish. It’s a lot! But that all goes back to my trust issues. I need to trust that I have enough time. Trust that what is for me will come, no matter how impossible it seems. Trust that I’m loved and supported and haven’t been forgotten. One of my favorite Sarah Blondin meditations to revisit when I’m feeling this way is Learning to Surrender.

There has been a lot for me to surrender and turn over to a higher power. Trusting that the Universe has my back and my world isn’t falling apart, it’s falling together. Using my senses to enjoy the world has been a good way for me to ground into what’s right here, right now.

Over the weekend I took a quick trip to Capitol Reef. It was comforting to be surrounded by nature. I took my shoes off and dug my feet into the deep sand. I felt the earth under my feet. I let the rocks support me as I snuggled into the soft sandstone seats. Taurus has been supporting me before I even realized it.

I’ll continue to stop and smell every flower and employ my senses in delighting in the abundant and magical world around me. Trusting that “she is coming into being,” she is here. I just need to get out of my own way and let her bloom.

From Kathy Biehl at Astrology Hub

The Taurus New Moon invites us to savor the sensuality and physicality of existence.  If only it would allow us to mosey over and sample them in our own sweet time.
This Moon’s energies are uncommonly highly charged for the sign and allow little chance for snoozing or otherwise missing the excitement.  They may, in fact, send us running in search of solid ground. Or hugs. Or bread and chocolate.

Through our acts may we pioneer new ways that help transform our cultural views of both the Earth and Women. For beyond gender, this shift is a move toward the Feminine Principle within all of Creation being honored and valued.
The bridge is a return to the Earth, to our body and to our senses through which we can communicate directly with the Life Stream that pulses throughout all of Creation.

full moon in libra

It’s already been a crazy full moon, huh. At least for me. Yesterday felt like I experienced every emotion, from joy to isolation, all within seconds… and then it would cycle through again. But I’m reminding myself that the “negative” emotions are here to teach me and help me grow. They’re showing me where to be more open and live more fully through my heart.

There are so many things that I’m waiting and ready to jump into the next phase on, but I’m trying to stay present and find the magic NOW. Because, those moments won’t exist until they are here and I’m missing out on what is here by constantly trying to live in the future. When I am able to relax and tap into the present moment, I see so much magic and love and joy and support. Maybe that’s one reason why it’s hard to stay.. the power is almost overwhelming. In a wonderful way.

But one thing I’m definitely working on is owning my power. Owning my power to create and live the beautiful life I know is here. Owning my power as a manifestation of Divinity. Owning my power as a woman and a mother. The ways are endless, and it’s so much easier to give our responsibility, and therefore our power, to someone else. Then, when things don’t work out, we can always blame them, or life, or whatever other external thing, without having to accept our failings. But its our failures that make us great.

And we can never really fail at all. Every single experience is to make us stronger and more capable of finding the best way to use our power. Being human is a magical thing. We are constantly co-creating the world we live in. And once we realize just how much power we hold in this process, we can change the world to be anything we want. And why not dream of a world with less suffering, less pain, less isolation and more compassion, community, and love.

It’s so simple that it almost sounds absurd. That’s how the truth usually is. Maybe that’s why minimalism is making such a huge splash right now. We are unconscious yearning to live without the clutter and confusion our mind so often produces. We are seeking the quiet simplicity of truth and love.

From Leslie Benson at Astrograph

The Full Moon is a time symbolic of culmination and harvest in the lunar cycle when the Moonreflects the maximum light from the Sun onto our beautiful blue Earth. When the Moon becomes full, it is at the opposite position in the zodiac from the Sun, and the Full Moon of March 31, 2018 takes place at 10º plus Libra, opposing the Sun at 10º plus Aries. The AriesLibra axis is significant of the self as reflected and related to by other, especially in terms of interpersonal relationships. Both signs are cardinal, meaning that their energetic quality is that of a hinge or dramatic turning point, and we may experience this as an undertone of this lunation. Where things were stuck, confused or tangled in our awareness, there is opportunity now for them to release and turn on into the next phase.

Slow but unstoppable forces are bearing down on relationships, agreements, structures and foundations plenty… Libran qualities are giving way to a firm and stern directness under this Moon. It’s guiding emotions to a crescendo and demanding not merely a response, but concrete movement.
The Full Moon is lighting up the Aries/Libra axis, which seesaws between the individual and the Other. We’re receiving an emotional report status report about the role of specific people in our lives, as well as the dynamics, agreements and rule books under which our relationships operate. Continuing as is is not an option. The report is coming with a shove to do something about all of this.

*FULL MOON* in Libra is giving us all the feels. As always Libra teaches us about right relationship to everything in our lives.
At this particular time, in this Year of Dog with all the planetary action at play and Mercury Retrograde, we are being asked to bring the focus inward and gaze deeply into the mirror of Self so we can truly come into right relationship with all our relations.
There is so much that is out of balance coming up for reflection for each of us on many levels. Being conscious is being aware of the impact our actions have on others. We are all in relationship and our actions have rippling effects, whether we are aware of it or not.
Now is the time to bring our  focus inward and create some healing space for ourselves to self-reflect, so we can ground into Source connection, gain understanding, and bring about some good healing as we course correct.
Dynamics will shift as we ourselves shift.  So let’s harness our energy so can more consciously realign our actions with our hearts.

happy new moon in capricorn!

It’s the first new moon of 2018! I can’t believe it’s here already. Time has been doing that weird slow, but fast thing for me lately… so I’m excited to have a new moon grounded in the earth energy of Capricorn. These past few weeks I’ve been overwhelmed, with a huge list, and so many demands on my plate it seems like I’m being pulled in a million different directions at once.

After a slight meltdown on Sunday, I finally slowed down and listened to my body telling me to focus on what is important. Sometimes it’s hard to know just what that is because there are so many people telling us what THEY think it should be. The mini meltdown was me calling myself back into alignment with what I know that I should be doing.

This time of year is always crazy for me, but now that I’m back on track and have set achievable goals I’m feeling confident again. Progress is being made! Even if it’s just baby steps toward my ultimate goals. Who was it that said in order to get somewhere you have to take the first step? A lot of first steps have been taken lately and I’m going to pat myself  on the back for that. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

From Mystic Mamma

*NEW MOON* in Capricorn is calling us to rise from within and move forward with our deepest Knowing.
We began the year coming to terms with what is no longer working and what needs to be let go of and now it’s time to move onward and trust in the unknown journey that awaits.
The beauty is we can choose to learn from our past and use our experiences as the fertile soil that will one day shoot new sprouts. Just as the dandelion seeds are carried in the wind to new ground, so we are held in the great continuum of life as it unfolds.”

Use the energy of Capricorn moon to stabilize your foundation materially. Capricorn New Moon concerns leadership, issues of security, and responsibility, it’s time to take care of business!”

From Henry Seltzer at Astrograph

“Tuesday’s Capricorn New Moon focuses a great deal of earth energy, with a Capricorn line-up of six planets, including Saturn,  SunMoon and Pluto. The outer planet aspects are also quite telling, with the New Moon in semi-square to Neptune, and in square to Uranus, with Mars in partile (or same-degree) aspect to Uranus as well, while Jupiter makes an extremely close sextile to Pluto. The outer planets take us right out of our narrow view of life in the physical, so that we will want to be alert for this now and over the next thirty days. Uranus, the Trickster, and the Awakener, by a process of surprise enlightenment and meaningful synchronicity opens us up to other-dimensional realities. Neptune allows us to drift away from the material plane entirely, functioning through dreams, poetry, and music to bring these other and more hidden realms to active presence within our very souls, while Pluto in Capricorn nudges us toward total transformation in our lives including our involvement with the mundane world of “getting and spending,” as poet William Wordsworth put it years ago, when the dawning of the nineteenth century highlighted the drama of our over-inundation with the material world.”
